What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payroll Analyst position at Circles of Care, Inc.?
The Payroll Analyst will work as part of the Human Resources Team and will be responsible for the functions of payroll, ensuring the bi-weekly payroll runs accurately and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure bi-weekly payroll run is performed timely and accurately
- Track bi-weekly changes and special circumstances to ensure employees’ pay is processed correctly
- Processes and distributes PTO-sell checks according to policy
- Forward Garnishment and 403b Contribution deductions to appropriate Payee
- Conducts periodic/scheduled audits for all active-terms employees, salary changes, and promotions
- Participates in payroll, retirement, finance, and HR audits as needed
- Assist in year-end tax reconciliations, issue W-2s, process W-2s with tax agencies and 1099-s if needed
- Communicates with employees and managers regarding payroll policies and practices
- Answer questions and provide training and support as needed to payroll and system issues
- Pull and distribute bi-weekly and monthly reports as needed
- Back-up to Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable
- Assist in the Human Resources and Finance departments as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, or related field, or Certified Payroll Professional, or equivalent experience
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and issues with tact and diplomacy
- Extensive knowledge of the payroll function, including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong computer skills, including advanced knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Thorough understanding of wage and hour laws, including payroll tax withholding, deductions, and garnishments
- Experience with payroll and retirement audits
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments and proactively anticipate needs
