Accounts Payable/Budget Analyst
Grades K-8
Start Date: Immediate
Number of Workdays: 239 days from July 1 - June 30
Salary: Commensurate with experience
This position reports to the Director of Finance.
Accounts Payable:
The accounts payable (AP) department keeps the system running smoothly by managing cash flow and paying vendors and suppliers. The AP will have a daily, ongoing impact on financial transactions, keeping us on track, on time and on good terms with our valued partners.
Budget Analyst:
The budget analyst oversees an organization or business’ spending to ensure that funds are allocated appropriately and used according to plan. Maintain records and create reports and proposals while working to analyze data and recommend funding for various programs is also a part of this role.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:
Accounts Payable:
Objectives:
1. Support CACS in optimizing its financial transactions and systems.
2. Strengthen and grow relationships with vendors and suppliers through timely payments.
3. Assist in streamlining and improving the accounts payable process.
4. Exercise integrity and confidentiality in financial reporting.
5. Comply with national and local financial regulations.
Responsibilities:
1. Review invoices for appropriate documentation prior to payment.
2. Perform invoice and general-ledger data entry.
3. Execute credit card and bank account reconciliation.
4. Generate purchase orders when necessary.
5. Assist Director of Finance as needed.
Budget Analyst:
1. Developing organizational budget with managers
2. Reviewing proposals for completeness, accuracy and compliance with company standards.
3. Consolidating the organizational budget for review.
4. Vetting funding requests for merit and authenticity.
5. Monitoring spending and keeping the organization within its set budget.
6. Preparing reports and estimating future financial needs.
7. Defending budget recommendations with data and evidence-based analysis.
Education, Training and Experience:
1. High school diploma/GED is required. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is preferred.
2. Understanding of basic principles of finance, accounting and bookkeeping.
3. Strong mathematical skills
4. Experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable.
5. Experience with accounting software and online platforms
