Job Overview
The Community Lending Officer proactively will identify, develop, and maintain a quality network of community and business relationships that serve as a source of referrals for new mortgage lending opportunities, with a primary focus on majority-minority census tracts within Citadel's field of membership. External relationships are the cornerstone of generating new business and may consist of community-based organizations, realtors, builders, and governmental agencies.
The Community Lending Officer is required to participate in business development related opportunities and community events that promote home ownership as well as collaborating with professional organizations in these underserved markets. Incumbent will be responsible for interviewing new and existing members to determine their loan needs and advising those members of appropriate products, terms, and pricing, while gathering any additional required information needed to successfully process a loan. It will be necessary to generate complete mortgage applications, ensuring appropriate procedures and policies are followed, while meeting sales goals and objectives. Additional responsibilities will include Closing and funding a prescribed number of these loans per month. The position will be expected to maintain 60% of your overall loan volume in low / mod census tracts along with active involvement in organizations serving the LMI community in Citadel's community charter market. The incumbent will collaborate with community-based organizations and municipalities to collect and submit subordinate financing (down payment assistance programs) for consideration in originating mortgages to low-moderate income borrowers. This position will support the entire Citadel community charter footprint, of Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery Counties as well as the City of Lancaster.
Responsibilities
- The Community Lending Officer is required to assist the Real Estate Lending Sales Director in coordinating the credit union's community lending initiatives and outreach programs, encouraging and developing more lending within majority Black and Hispanic census tracts, promoting financial education / counseling and building relationships with community groups.
- Analyze comprehensive LMI market performance data, using results to develop strategic initiatives to drive future LMI performance.
- Responsible for interviewing new and existing members to determine their loan financial objectives and goals and advising those members of the appropriate Citadel products, terms, and pricing, while gathering any additional required information. Review / Analyze credit and financial data and explain guidelines; Apprise of pricing and lock rate as required; Identify appropriate opportunities to sell additional products; Collect supporting loan documentation as required and provide complete package to Mortgage Loan Processor.
- Lead annual market strategic planning sessions utilizing data analysis, market intelligence, LMI performance metrics and charitable giving to ensure the establishment of LMI market objectives.
- Work with the Director of Sales to conduct a designated number of homebuyer seminars per year, and participate in various Community Lending related events (Housing Fairs, etc.), and support regular reporting to leadership regarding various organizational performance metrics and objectives.
- Volunteer to be on a Board or committee of a not-for-profit organization.

Work Environment
