A Typical Day May Include The Following
- Provide on-site, instructor-led training to new and existing retail bank employees as needed, collaborating with Branch Operations Managers.
- Create, update, and distribute instructional materials, handouts, and visible aids to ensure training objectives are clear, measurable, and achievable.
- Designs evaluation strategies to validate that learning outcomes are achieved. Provides feedback on content and observations made during training to Operations Manager.
- Evaluates trainees' performance and progress through observation and verbal questioning. Provides coaching feedback and direction to trainees to facilitate development of desired knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Maintain strong knowledge of retail banking training needs and understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, business initiatives and technologies. Should be viewed as a subject matter expert in the area.
- Maintains all records necessary with respect to the attendance and performance of trainees. Addresses needs and problems that arise during training classes. Escalates to manager as appropriate.
- Assist as needed, onsite, when vacancies arise in the branches, in the functional areas supported by the Specialist.
- Assists with projects as needed, including the update and maintenance of the Branch Operations Manual, training and upload procedures, training binders and creating and updating training videos.
- Demonstrates teamwork, mutual respect and flexibility in support of the retail branch operations. Builds and maintains effective relationships with staff and management. Maintains confidentiality with regard to individual employee development and performance-related issues.
- This position occasionally requires travel to external offices to collaborate with management and staff. However, regular on-site presence is essential for effective performance, fostering teamwork, engaging in face-to-face interactions with peers and management, and utilizing in-house software and hardware. Compliance with the bank's attendance policy is a critical requirement for this role.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Education
- 5 years banking experience as a teller, new accounts rep or branch manager is preferred.
- Must have experience working with computers and be familiar with basic types of software such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Must have stellar written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of professionalism
- Ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Must have the ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Must maintain a well-developed working knowledge of the bank's products and services, along with the applicable regulations and operating systems.
