What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Chef position at Citizens Options Unlimited?
Overview
Camp Loyaltown is a large residential summer camp for children and adults with intellectual and other developmental disabilities. The Assistant Chef is responsible for completing whatever meal related tasks that are delegated to them by the Executive Chef. In addition to meal preparation & clean up tasks, the assistant chef is responsible for the supervision of and working with the Kitchen Staff during mealtimes.
Responsibilities
Primary duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Practices and promotes the agencies mission statements in every interaction through family and community engagement, Citizens supports people to live the life they choose.
- Adheres to all regulations, agency policy and procedures, the employee handbook, and agency and program training requirements
- Reports to the Justice Center as a mandated reporter if there is reasonable cause to suspect abuse or neglect. Additionally, must follow all agency incident policy and procedures
- Work with Executive Chef in managing staff
- Instruct and direct kitchen staff
- Cover for Executive Chef on their Day –off
- Additional tasks as requested by your supervisor
IN ADDITION TO KITCHEN STAFF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare 3 meals a day
- Dish & Pot washing after each meal
- Handling Deliveries
- Mopping & Cleaning of kitchen and surrounding areas
- Prepare & Clean up OD snack on a rotating basis
- Food preparation
- Prepare coffee for breakfast/dinner
- Periodic count of utensils, dishes, cups, pitchers etc.
- Additional tasks as requested by your supervisor
Qualifications
- Previous kitchen experience, including prep work and kitchen maintenance.
- Food handling safety certification (SafeServ).
Physical aspects may include but are not limited to the ability to lift up to 50lbs.
