Manage the department’s outreach schedule
Manage continuous improvement of workshop content
Oversee budget for outreach materials
Collect and report on program metrics
Develop and implement program evaluation system
Work closely and collaboratively with community partners, parents, and caregivers to help them understand early child development and support building critical early learning skills.
Connect with community partners such as schools, child care settings, informal care networks, and City of Denver partner agencies to reach parents with young children
About Our Department
The Early Learning Department was established in 2010 to ensure that the Denver Public Library provided high quality, researched-based early learning experiences for kids from birth through kindergarten. Our goal is that all of Denver’s children show up to kindergarten ready to learn and thrive. We do this through direct programming for children via the Read Aloud Program and our Create to Learn outreach series; through support for parents to enrich their early literacy environment at home via our Outreach to Parents and Caregivers and LENA programming; and through support for early educators to enrich the early literacy environment in the classroom via our Early Learning Outreach to Educators programming. Please note that there is a plan in place for the department to serve a broader range of youth in the community in the future. This position will support that work.
