Part-Time, Interim Human Resources Specialist is responsible for developing and executing human resource strategy in support of the overall organizational plan and strategic direction of the organization, specifically in the areas of succession planning, talent management, change management, organizational and performance management, training and development, and compensation. As an interim partner of the senior leadership team, the Interim Human Resources Specialist provides strategic leadership by articulating HR needs and plans to the COO, CEO, and the board of directors.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND TASKS

The duties and responsibilities of the position are to be carried out in a manner that is consistent with the mission, values, and operating principles of the Buffalo City Mission.
- Establish and implement HR efforts that effectively communicate and support the organization’s mission and strategic vision.
- Develop HR plans and strategies to support the achievement of the overall organization’s operations objectives.
- Function as a strategic business partner with the executive management regarding key organizational and management issues.
- Work collaboratively with the Mission’s executive team as a strategic advisor to establish a sound plan of management succession that corresponds to the strategy and objectives of the Mission.
- Develop comprehensive strategic recruiting and retention plans to meet the human capital needs of strategic goals.
- To serve as a trusted counsel, confidant, liaison, and coach to the senior leadership team, the board of directors, as well as members of management, as they face challenges to better improve the organization.
- Help the organization establish goals and continue improving employee relations.
- Develop and implement comprehensive compensation and benefits plans that are competitive and cost-effective.
- Provide overall leadership and guidance to the HR function by overseeing talent acquisition, career development, succession planning, retention, training, leadership development, compensation, and benefits.
- As the legal onsite expert, keeping abreast of government regulations and public policies and accordingly amending organizational policies.
