What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations/Maintenance Associate position at City Net?
Position Overview: The Emergency Bridge Housing Operations/Maintenance Associate will provide program support and assist with facilities maintenance at the scattered site emergency bridge housing properties in Sacramento. They will assist the Supervisor in maintaining a positive, professional, and safe environment at the sites, protecting against external and internal disruptions. Our Operations/Maintenance Associates use problem-solving, empathy, and verbal de escalation skills to maintain a safe and secure environment for guests. They will provide general support and customer service for Bridge Housing guests including conducting rounds and property condition inventory checklists, observing, and reporting any facilities/maintenance needs, providing basic maintenance such as changing lightbulbs, replacing batteries in smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors, coordinating check-in, conducting guest property checks, and providing light cleaning and conflict resolution. They will also be responsible for communicating policies and procedures to internal and external constituents. This position will be part of our team of Engagement Associates.
Place of Work: Reports daily to the assigned local office to be dispatched to fieldwork at emergency bridge housing sites throughout the assigned region.
Expected Hours & Schedules: This position works 5 days per week, 8 hours each shift for a total of 40 hours per workweek. 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Monday-Friday.

Requirements:
- Upbeat passion for ending homelessness
- Flexible and dynamic personality
- High level of empathy and understanding for people experiencing homelessness and presenting with multiple and urgent case management needs, substance use, health, and/or mental health concerns
- Excellent professional boundaries
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to communicate facilities/maintenance needs clearly and quickly
- Respectful and effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to perform crisis intervention and conflict de-escalation as needed
- Understanding of the importance of quality and timely data collection and reporting
- Understanding of or eagerness to learn about the nonprofit, volunteer, and social services sectors
- Strong interpersonal, planning, and organization skills
- Basic computer proficiency including word processing and database management
- Ability to pass background checks and random drug screenings successfully upon hire and throughout employment
- Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer
Nice To Have:
- Property management, facilities/maintenance, customer service experience
- Experience interacting with people affected by homelessness, substance use disorders, chronic health and mental health concerns, domestic and intimate partner violence, and/or human trafficking strongly preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Professional experience with Microsoft Suite
Physical and Mental Demands
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 1/3 of the time Must be able to traverse rough outdoor terrain at least 2/3 of the time
- Must be able to move oneself quickly in certain urgent/emergent situations (e.g. to avoid falling or projected items, or to administer Naloxone/Narcan to a client who has overdosed)
- Must be able to inspect paper and electronic documents and accurately communicate their contents and connotations to various audiences
- Must be able to detect and recognize approaching visitors and recognize clients, community partners, and staff
- Must be able to complete assigned tasks without direct supervision
