Position Description
Class Title: Head Cashier (Pool & Concessions)
Pay: $16.00 per hour

GENERAL PURPOSE
This position supervises swimming pools/spray parks concessions facilities in the summer aquatics program for the City of Allentown.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Works under the supervision of the Aquatics Manager and Assistant Aquatics Manager.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED
Exercises supervision over concessions cashiers.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
" Review concessions manual with staff prior to pool/spray park concessions opening.
" Make responsible decisions regarding the composite swimming pool/spray park concessions operation.
" Identify problems and act responsibly to make appropriate decisions regarding the food handling and sales process.
" Develop and maintain concessions staff work schedules 2 weeks in advance.
" Organize and conduct weekly staff meetings.
" Act as a liaison between management staff and cashiers.
" Perform cashier duties when necessary.
" Complete and maintain accurate facility records for all aspects of facility management such as payroll, time sheets and temperature logs, inventory logs, manifests, incident/accident reports, facility safety checks, facility cleanliness, staff meeting notes and training logs.
" Responsible for all keys, their safe handling, distribution and collection.
" Cooperate with Parks and Recreation events.
" Report vandalism and needed repairs to the Aquatics Manager and Assistant Aquatics Manager.
" Supervise food service and cashier procedures during operating hours.
" Ensure cashiers follow proper protocols and procedures.
" Coordinate needed supplies and chemicals through the Aquatics Manager/Assistant Aquatics Manager.
" Generate the cash register report and prepare revenue for deposit.
" Organize petty cash and concession inventory for the following day's operation.
" Ensure cleanliness of the facility and staff areas, including all equipment and concessions stands.
" Close the concessions operation in the event of inclement weather or emergency.
" Request additional authority when needed to efficiently run the pool/spray park concessions operation.
" Provide quality and effective customer service with courtesy and understanding to our customers, citizens and internal departments.
" Performs related work as may be required.

Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
- Prior experience preferred
- 18 years of age or order, preferred.
- Knowledge of food handling and cashier techniques
- Ability to supervise the work of subordinate concession personnel.
- Ability to exercise tact and good judgment in maintaining a properly running concessions stands.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, participants and the public.
- Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations at a high school level.
