What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Pool Manager position at City of Apple Valley?
- Supervise and review cash handling, staff performance and personnel levels on a daily basis.
- Provide reports and other data as requested by the Recreation Supervisor and other City Departments.
- Provide discipline and commendation to staff members as needed to ensure the highest moral and ethical behavior amongst the staff.
- Advise the Recreation Supervisor on issues pertaining to the operation.
- Ensure the safety of all staff and facility users.
- Train staff in and model pleasant, proactive and approachable customer service.
- Support the efforts of staff in maintaining a clean and sanitary facility.
- Provide seasonal employees with feedback in writing on their performance. Make recommendations regarding the rehire of seasonal employees.
- Former or current Certified American Red Cross Lifeguard with work experience.
- Demonstrated leadership ability, including successful conflict management and complaint resolution.
- Supervisory, lead worker or other similarly responsible leadership experience.
- Functional knowledge of basic federal and state laws and best practices for managing and supervising employees.
- Great interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience in cash handling and cash register operations.
- Experience supervising aquatic facility staff.
- Experience in training and evaluating seasonal staff.
- American Red Cross Authorized Lifeguard Training Instructor.
- Lifeguard Training Certification, Lifeguard Training Instructor Certification and Certified Pool Operator.
POSTING FOR: Splash Valley
Pool Season: June 6 - August 20, 2025. Potential for additional work Pre and Post season.
Pool is open 7 days a week. Day, evening and weekend work will be required.
Splash Valley Hours: 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
