What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal - Outside Operations - Reid Golf Course position at City of Appleton?
The Outside Operations Staff reports directly to the Clubhouse Supervisor and is responsible for providing exceptional customer service. The Outside Operations Staff provides a high level of customer service including, but not limited to: provide a welcome greeting; assist with tee time scheduling; answering questions; clubhouse cleaning; preparing rental carts for daily use; practice range maintenance and other duties as required to ensure customers have an enjoyable experience. The Outside Operations Staff will be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Maintains rental cart fleet including: fueling, cleaning and washing after play, staging for rentals, parking for evening, checking tire pressure and locking carts up for the evening.
- Coordinates with Clubhouse Attendant to service the practice area which includes: picking up of golf balls, washing of golf balls and the storage of balls and baskets.
- Maintains and keeps all working areas attractive, neat and clean; performing general cleaning, including but not limited to, restocking bathrooms, dusting displays, cleaning tables, vacuuming clubhouse floors, emptying trash receptacles, cleaning outside entrances, etc.
- Be able to work in a team environment and adapt to what is asked of individual.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
- Assists with various responsibilities during tournament and/or outings to ensure customers' needs are met.
- Assist with starting and marshalling as required.
- Assist with grounds staff responsibilities as required.
- Attends staff meetings as required.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Knowledge of the golf industry and/or food and beverage industry, course etiquette and rules.
- Must have exceptional customer service skills.
- Must have positive attitude and professional demeanor.
- Ability to perform a wide variety of tasks during busy, sometimes stressful times.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays and evenings with a positive, enthusiastic outlook.
- Ability to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions.
- Must be organized, efficient and detail-oriented.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow staff members and the public in a courteous and tactful manner.
- Ability to work in a safe manner.
- Possession of and ability to maintain a valid Wisconsin driver's license.
Must be a minimum of 16 years of age.
