Job Summary
Under general supervision, performs semi-routine clerical duties requiring a sound knowledge of organizational and/or departmental procedures related to the work performed.
Essential Job Functions
- Verify accuracy and process overdue library account reports and correspondence, daily deposits, accounts payable invoices, and incoming shipments..
- Perform various clerical functions and to operate various types of office equipment, such as computer, copier, printer, and calculator.
- Perform data entry.
- Interact tactfully and effectively with customers; communicate orally with diverse types of people; to respond to inquiries by applying knowledge of general library policies and procedures.
- Maintain departmental records and coordinate records retention processes as needed.
- Sort and route incoming and outgoing mail.
- On a nontypical basis, incumbent may perform other additional duties not listed in this description that are in alignment with the scope of essential job functions.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products or other word processing, spreadsheet and database programs, and basic computer tasks.
- Knowledge of business English, spelling and punctuation.
- Knowledge of basic bookkeeping procedures.
- Knowledge of basic database concepts of various record tables within an existing structure.
- Knowledge of standard filing procedures.
- Skill in entering data accurately and quickly.
- Skill in analyzing information needs with careful attention to detail.
- Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment based on policies and procedures.
- Ability to exercise discretion with library patron and employee records.
- Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with fellow employees and the public
- Ability to lift or exert forces equivalent of lifting up to 20 pounds.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Two (2) years of clerical experience including general bookkeeping
- Criminal Background Check
- Health Performance Evaluation (HPE)
- Physical Examination
Salary : $16 - $20
