About the Role
">The City of Beaumont is seeking an experienced Urban Planning Specialist to join our team. As an Urban Planning Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting the Planning Manager and other Community Development Department staff in current projects.

- Perform professional, technical, statistical, and analytical duties involving land use or other planning studies for public or private development projects ">
- Review development and land use applications, as well as zoning and site plans ">
- Assist the public at the front counter and provide information on Zoning and General Plan matters ">
- Prepare written project analyses and reports on special studies pertaining to land use, zoning, housing, and other planning functions ">
- Conduct plan checks for compliance with zoning code and development regulations ">
- Present staff reports and provide professional support to boards or commissions served by the Planning Department ">
Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in urban planning, community development, public administration, or a related field ">
- Minimum one year of working experience for a public agency or private planning firm ">
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills ">
- Ability to work effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced environment ">
- Valid California Class C Driver's License ">
