Job Summary
The North Bellevue Community Center (NBCC) is looking for a program leader for Older Adult (55 ) recreation programs. This position is responsible for leading a variety of recreation activities with the purpose of building community and creating opportunities for social connection. This position will oversee several existing programs and will also assist with new program design under the supervision of the community services coordinator.
Pay Range : $21.60 - $29.81 hourly
Hours : 24 hours per week, working hours generally between 9 - 5 pm M - F
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Leading and organizing weekly social activity
Assisting with NBCC events
Leading and organizing various craft and educational programs
Community building and social engagement with older adults
Developing new programs and activities
Driving a 15-passenger van for trips and tours throughout King County
Coordinating with outside contractors / instructors for recreation activities
Some general assistance with community center tasks such as setting up rooms, taking program registration, making coffee, light cleaning, etc.
Some assistance with data collection for grant reporting related to older adult programs
Qualifications
Available on weekdays between 9 and 5 pm
Experience facilitating group recreation activities or experience in education, tourism, or recreation
Experience working with older adults is preferred.
Ability to communicate and work well with others from a diverse range of generational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds.
Comfortable driving large vehicles or willing to learn how to drive our 15 - passenger bus. Training will be provided regardless of skill level. CDL not required.
Must have a current Washington State driver's license and good driving record.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to work with cash and make change.
General computer skills
Ability to enforce facility rules, policies, guidelines, and safety standards.
CPR and first aid certification will be required upon hiring and will be provided by the City of Bellevue.
Able to pass a background check.
Enjoys working in a social environment
