TEMPORARY PART TIME – BANNEKER CAMP STAFF ASSISTANT - BANNEKER COMMUNITY CENTER
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Provides set up, pre-planning and preparation for Banneker Summer Camp 2025. Plans for and implements daily programming for camp--educational, sports, cultural, fitness, health and wellness and social activities. Works closely with Facility/Program Coordinator and Program Specialist to create a positive camp experience.
EDUCATION:
College education in the recreation field with emphasis on youth, recreation, or education or equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities.
TRAINING/SPECIAL SKILLS:
Ability to interact effectively with the public. Must be mature and have good judgment. Must have strong planning skills and the ability to implement a variety of recreational activities. Ability to work independently, supervise employees, and take direction. Applicant should be creative, enthusiastic, and able to work with a variety of people and children.
EXPERIENCE:
Demonstrated ability to supervise, motivate and work well with others. Knowledge of program administration and program planning for children in a summer camp like setting is recommended.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
Valid Indiana Driver’s License, CPR and First Aid or ability to obtain.
HOURS:
Ability to work from 2:00-6:00 M-F as needed until camp begins, camp hours could range between 830am and 5:30pm M-F, no more than 29.5 hours per week. Other hours may be needed as warranted for special events. Position begins March 31, 2025 and continues thru August 1, 2025
SALARY:
$17.96 per hour.
