- High school diploma or equivalent and
- 4 years of experience performing administrative or clerical support duties in a departmental or operational group, or
- an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Associate's degree in administration or an administrative specialist certification.
- 5 years of direct office experience in an airport, commercial leasing or public records environment with a high level of knowledge in public records requests and development reviews.
Applicants must be able to pass:
- City of Boise background check processes which includes a criminal history check and reference checks in accordance with the City of Boise Hiring Process Regulation
- Transportation Security Administration background check (SIDA)
Handles complex issues and problems and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff. Is capable of performing all duties of an Administrative Assistant I and II, and provides leadership coaching and/or mentoring to a subordinate group, as needed.
Serves as the initial point of contact for airport visitors and handles the administrative functions of the airport reception desk. Manages conference room reservations online, in person or over the phone. Receives customers, visitors and conference center guests. Photocopies and notarizes documents. Courteously answers and responds to customer inquiries and routes telephone calls. Updates and maintains contact and reservation lists. Receives, ships, sorts and distributes mail and other correspondence. Handles complaints and works to come to a resolution.
Reviews and accepts applications for airport background checks and identification badges. Reviews forms for completion and accuracy. Processes payments for airport credentialing. Coordinates with the credentialing office for processing, training and testing.
Reviews and accepts applications and processes payments for ground transportation permits. Reviews forms for completion and accuracy. Distributes permits to vendors and tenants.
Compiles information and tracks lost and found articles into the applicable database and ensures compliance with state and local regulations and ordinances related to lost and unclaimed property.
Performs a wide variety of clerical support functions, including document preparation, proofreading and distribution. Works cross-functionally with other departments and personnel to provide backup support to other clerical positions.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally lifting/carrying up to 20 pounds. Also, the employee is occasionally pushing/pulling up to 100 pounds and rarely pushing/pulling up to 75 pounds. The noise level is occasionally moderate and rarely very loud. Work includes sensory ability to talk, hear and touch. Work in this position also includes close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. Employees will sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach and grasp. Position requires hand/finger dexterity.
