About us :

Burlington Aquatics offers many opportunities for the community to be involved in all types of swimming programs at our various aquatic facilities. There is a program for everyone!

What you will do :

This seasonal position oversees the Aquatics facilities, ensuring daily maintenance, chemical testing, and logging into Digiquatics. The role includes coordinating and supervising equipment setup and takedown for classes, programs, rentals, and special events. Responsibilities also include monitoring staff performance, addressing customer service issues, and managing mechanical or staff concerns in the absence of Directors. Additional duties involve custodial tasks, equipment care, inventory management, safety programs, routine facility inspections, and janitorial functions. The position assists with staff planning, training, and fills in for absent staff as needed.

Work Schedule :

Rotating work schedule, up to 40 hours a week, sharing between 4 employees a 5 : 30am-9pm M-F, 8 : 30am-9pm Sat, 1pm-9pm Sun schedule with other facility managers. Work hours are during the months of May through September.

Examples of Duties

Safety and Oversight
Ensure a safe environment for staff and patrons at all times.
Hold staff accountable for rule enforcement, responsibilities, and attentiveness to patrons.
Operations and Compliance Monitor completion of daily checklists and operational tasks.Oversee paperwork, including accident / incident reports, daily activity logs, chemical reports, and deposit records.
Customer Engagement Manage camp check-ins during weekdays and party check-ins on weekends.Assist the front desk and ensure exceptional customer service, prioritizing safety as the top priority.
Staff Development Train and mentor new team members.Issue coaching forms and provide feedback to staff as needed.Help lead in-service training sessions.
Facility Support Conduct swim tests and ensure proper protocol is followed.Step into any role as needed, including Water Safety Instructor (WSI), Lifeguard (LG), or Reception.

Qualifications

Pool Management

Expertise in pool chemistry and maintenance.

Proficient in managing staff and ensuring effective team performance.

Customer Service Excellence

Strong background in customer service with a focus on positive guest experiences.

Skilled in handling money and operating a register efficiently.

Leadership and Teamwork

Ability to lead staff with a positive and motivating approach.

Adept at receiving and executing supervisor instructions effectively.

Task Management

Skilled in multi-tasking and completing assignments efficiently and on time.

Facility Awareness

Ability to identify facility needs and promptly report them to a supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications :

Candidate must be at least 18 years of age

Must have reliable transportation to get to and from work

One to two years’ experience working in aquatics (or customer service)

Special Requirements :

CPO certified (or ability to achieve)

CPR PRO and First Aid certified (or ability to achieve)

Lifeguard Certification (or ability to achieve)

Lifeguard Instructor Certification (or ability to achieve)

Water Safety Instructor Certification (or ability to achieve)

Supplemental Information

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions :

Work typically involves the ability to physically perform the basic life operational functions of stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions.

Work necessitates visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned.

The employee is subject to hazards including a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, oils, noise, extreme heat and vibration.

The employee is in contact with potentially infectious bodily fluids during the performance of duties such as when providing first aid care and facility cleaning.

Working conditions include both inside and outside environmental conditions.
