Position Details
Our Public Works Department is a dedicated team of talented individuals who work together to make normal happen for those who work, live, and play in Burnsville. Your efforts will help keep our city running smoothly and efficiently, making essential contributions to operation and maintenance of our infrastructure.
This non-exempt (hourly) position offers a starting wage of $15.05 - $17.95 per hour, depending on qualifications. Flexible scheduling is available with full-time or part-time hours:
- Monday-Friday: 6:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
- Saturday-Sunday: 6:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
How you'll use your strengths every day
- Helping maintain City parks for the enjoyment of residents and visitors.
- Performing maintenance on athletic fields, beaches, playgrounds, and picnic areas.
- Assisting with mowing, turf maintenance, and weed trimming.
- Supporting landscaping, park development, and special projects.
- Safely operating City vehicles and equipment, including mowers, pickup trucks, and power tools.
- Assisting staff with various park maintenance tasks.
What you'll bring to help you be successful
Miniumum Qualifications:
- Must be 17 years of age or older.
- Possess a valid Class D Driver’s License or be eligible to obtain one.
- Have a background or interest in local government work and serving the community.
- Demonstrate a desire to develop your strengths while valuing the unique perspectives of your colleagues.
