Position Details
As a Seasonal Maintenance II worker in our Parks department, you’ll assist staff with a variety of park maintenance tasks and safely operate city vehicles and equipment, while also taking on more advanced responsibilities and working independently. Ideal candidates will have experience in park maintenance or similar roles.
Our Public Works Department is a dedicated team of talented individuals who work together to make normal happen for those who work, live, and play in Burnsville. Your efforts will help keep our city running smoothly and efficiently, making essential contributions to operation and maintenance of our infrastructure.
This non-exempt (hourly) position offers a starting wage of $16.91 - $20.17 per hour, depending on qualifications. Full-time and part-time hours are available:
- Monday-Friday: 6:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
- Saturday-Sunday: 6:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
How you'll use your strengths every day
- Assisting with the maintenance of City parks for the use and enjoyment of the community.
- Maintaining athletic fields, beaches, playgrounds, and picnic areas.
- Assisting with mowing, turf maintenance, and weed trimming.
- Supporting landscaping, park development, and special projects.
- Safely operating city vehicles and equipment such as mowers, pickup trucks, and hand and power tools.
- Assisting staff with various park maintenance tasks.
What you'll bring to help you be successful
Miniumum Qualifications:
- Must be 17 years of age or older.
- Must have park or other relevant experience.
- Possess a valid Class D Driver’s License or be eligible to obtain one.
- Have a background or interest in local government work and serving the community.
- Show a commitment to developing your strengths and valuing each colleague’s unique perspectives.
