What are the responsibilities and job description for the Utility Line Locator-Water Department position at City of Caldwell?
The City of Caldwell has an opening for a Utility Line Locator to provide support to the Caldwell City Water Department. Individual performs activities related to locating City utilities such as water, sewer, MS4, streetlights and fiber. Enters data into asset management/Geographic Information System (GIS) Database. Performs duties of water and irrigation operator when time permits; performs other duties as assigned or needed. Subject to pre-employment drug screen, physical and background check.
Acceptable Experience and Training:
- Graduation from high school or possession of a GED; and
- Some experience in utility construction and/or electrical technology background; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience, education and training which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the work.
- Basic understanding of GIS concepts is preferred.
Required Special Qualifications:
- Possession of a current and valid Idaho State driver’s license.
- Possession of or ability to obtain a Class A CDL and proper endorsements issued by the State of Idaho within 60 days of employment.
- Possession of or ability to obtain a Class I Water Distribution Certification issued by the State of Idaho within 24 months of employment.
- After hours on-call.
- May be required to work during emergency conditions.
