Annual Salary Range: $33,000 - $45,000 ( 10 - $20/hour in benefits.)

Position Summary:
The Customer Service Representative is responsible for all customer service needs for the Canton Parks and Recreation. This position shall perform customer service duties such as shelter reservations, program registrations, customer communication. This person will perform additional clerical duties as assigned by the Administrative Manager and Director of Canton Parks and Recreation. This position is also responsible for supervision of customer service staff.
This position will assist the Administrative Manager in facilitating communication between front office staff and the Superintendents of Parks and Recreation regarding customer service needs and coordination of rentals, programs, and other activities. Shall assist the front office staff with all customer service issues pertaining to programs, rentals and activities and bring them to the attention of the Superintendents and/or Director when appropriate.
Works to resolve complaints submitted to the Parks and Recreation Office regarding program, facility rental and scheduling issues. This position will also work in coordination on other projects as assigned by the Director.
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate's degree (Baccalaureate degree preferred). Experience within a government or customer service related field is preferred. Experience with financial management and recreational programming software is highly desirable. Possession of a valid Ohio Operator's License is required. Must be willing to attend various training sessions or schooling to maintain or improve his/her skills.
Specific Responsibilities:
• Scheduling and supervision of seasonal office staff (approximately 1-2 PT Employees)
• Proficiency with scheduling software and other park and recreation software programs
• Customer service
• Cash controls
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office products
• Ability and willingness to work weekends, evenings, and special events as the schedule demands
• Must successfully pass a background check, drug screening and must have a valid, current Ohio Driver's License
General Requirements:
- Must be able to read and write and have good command to the English language.
- Strong oral and written communication.
- Physical capabilities - lift 50 pounds, squat, bend, and move as necessary for the job.
- Must be able to perform basic mathematics.
- Must have basic proficiency of Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Must possess valid Ohio Driver’s License.
- Must possess professional phone skills and work well with public.
- Must present a neat and professional appearance.
- Responsible to follow policies and procedures of Canton Parks and Recreation and the City of Canton.
