General Definition of Work
Performs works responsible for coordinating administrative functions and provides technical support for the department operations.
Essential Functions
● Compiles, creates and presents detailed monthly analysis regarding visitors and visitor inquiries via mail, e-mail, magazine response forms, office visits, etc.
● Collaborates and communicates with the Marketing Office. Provides support to the Marketing/Social Media Specialist as needed.
● Executes general and specific administrative initiatives and support including special project assistance to Department Director and Division leaders.
● Communicates effectively with citizens and visitors, board members, sponsors and other agencies. Take minutes, prepares documents/reports and provides overall administrative support.
● Helps with department conducted events and activities as requested, including not only special events, but activities such as grant reporting to the Missouri Division of Tourism and etc.
● Coordinates communications for river boat dockings. Including but not limited to organizing the shore excursion company, the vessel, the Parks, Fire, Police, Water, Public Works Departments, as well as the cab company, attractions for tours, Dixie Land Band, Trail of Tears, Old Town Cape, City information and most importantly the volunteers. Also, requisitions and distributes funds.
● Coordinates tours for the Glenn House, Red House and Fort D.
● Oversees staffing of volunteers for special events
● Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
● Qualified applicants must possess a valid driver’s license.
● Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position relating the CGCVB to make well-informed, mission related decisions.
● Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of specialized training in the field of work in addition to basic skills in office management and administrative principles
● Must possess a minimum of a high school diploma.
Salary per hour $18.04, plus a generous benefit package.
- Bi-weekly pay periods.
- Twelve paid holidays per year.
- 96 hours of vacation – accrued throughout the year.
- 96 hours of sick leave – accrued throughout the year.
- 2 days of personal leave per fiscal year. Must be employed at the beginning of the fiscal year to receive.
- City paid monthly premiums for health and dental insurance – Employee only.
- City paid monthly life insurance for employee only (1 times annual salary up to $50,000).
- Optional group term life insurance purchased at employee’s expense.
- Optional vision insurance purchased at employee’s expense.
- Voluntary deferred compensation plan – not matched by the City.

- Total compensation value (Hourly starting rate plus benefits value) for this position is $27.11 hourly/$69,728 yearly.
