General Description:
This position supports the delivery of various programs at City of Charleston facilities, specifically tailored to youth ages 16-20, as part of the Mayor's Summer Youth Jobs Program. The Inventory Analyst role focuses on supporting supply chain and logistics operations at the Charleston Fire Department. Employment may be extended based on departmental needs and employee availability.
The role operates under close supervision and follows set procedures. This is a part-time temporary position with a maximum of 35 hours per week.
Primary Responsibilities:

Assist with developing and implementing strategies for inventory control, purchasing, and tracking processes.

Conduct data entry, retrieve and compile inventory data, and prepare relevant reports.

Communicate with internal departments to ensure accurate inventory and supply tracking.

Answer phone calls, greet and assist visitors and vendors.

Utilize Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.

Collaborate closely with the Logistics Manager on daily tasks and projects.
Candidate Requirements:

Must be between 16 and 20 years of age.

Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.

Must be able to bend and squat as required for inventory-related duties.

Must provide documentation verifying legal work status.

Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking).

Ability to understand and follow City and departmental policies and procedures.
