General Description:
This position supports the implementation of community, recreational, cultural, and special event programs offered by the City of Charleston for youth ages 16-20. Employment is scheduled from June 2, 2025, through August 8, 2025, with potential extensions depending on departmental needs and employee availability.
This role is supervised closely and follows established procedures. The position is part-time, with a maximum of 35 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform general administrative tasks, including drafting letters and correspondence, processing and distributing mail, and organizing files and records.

Conduct data entry, retrieve information, and produce reports.

Communicate effectively with other departments and internal teams.

Answer phone calls, welcome guests, and provide support to visitors and the public.

Use Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel) and other computer programs as needed.

Work closely with the Senior Administrative Assistant.
Candidate Requirements:

Must be between 16-20 years of age.

Ability to provide documentation verifying legal work status.

Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.

Able to understand and comply with City and departmental guidelines, policies, and expectations.
Dress Code:
Business casual attire is required.
Note: Shorts and flip-flops are not permitted.
