Saturday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Starting Pay Rate: $12.00/hour
General Description
This position supports the day-to-day operations of one or more community recreation centers. Employees will assist with facility maintenance, activity coordination, patron interaction, and youth programming. Work is performed under close supervision and follows established procedures.
Responsibilities, Tasks, and Projects

Greet patrons and answer phones

Enforce community center rules and assist with center programming

Clean and sanitize high-use areas (e.g., floors, mirrors, doors, gym equipment, restrooms)

Perform light custodial work, including taking out trash and picking up grounds

Take orders and collect payments at swimming pool concession stands
-
Track progress of youth participants and report concerns to Center Staff
-
Provide mentorship and support to youth to encourage personal growth and confidence
-
Engage with parents and caregivers to promote center programs
-
Assist with academic support and enrichment activities
-
Help Center Staff with daily deposit paperwork and documentation
-
Collaborate with City departments and external organizations for events and activities
Candidate Requirements

Must be 16 years of age or older

Must be able to:
-
Lift up to 50 pounds
-
Walk or sit for up to 8 hours per day

Work outdoors in varied weather conditions

Must have reliable transportation
Dress Code

Parks and Recreation-provided T-shirts, long-sleeved shirts, or sweatshirts

Comfortable tops and bottoms with no holes or excessive wear

Closed-toe shoes suitable for physical activities

No shirts exposing midriff or chest area

Bottoms must be mid-thigh or longer
