ADA Infrastructure:
This position manages transportation and/or accessibility projects, with a primary focus on ADA infrastructure. Responsibilities include but is not limited to overseeing all phases of project development—Feasibility, Programming, Design, Construction, and Close-Out—for federally, state, and locally funded initiatives. Projects involve sidewalk and accessibility improvements, roadway and multi-modal elements (e.g., bike facilities, pedestrian access and safety), and ADA-compliant infrastructure, ensuring alignment with the City’s ADA Transition Plan.

The Senior Project Manager oversees the success of projects of substantial cost, scope, and complexity to include, but not limited to: new facility/infrastructure construction or major renovations to existing facilities/infrastructure. The Senior Project Manager advises management on cost-planning, scheduling, control and productivity analysis, provides financial management oversight and reports on business results. Advises management on work distribution and project rescheduling issues; facilitates internal processes and scoping meetings. May guide the work of Project Managers in a consultant capacity. Primarily and most frequently the work done here is performed independently under the general direction of a Division Manager or Department Head.

- Manages projects through all phases and activities throughout the life of projects which includes serving as team leader and facilitator;
- Maintains a high level of customer service and communication with stakeholders and key City staff and official involved with the projects;
- For construction-related projects, regularly attends and participates in meetings and presents projects to the School Board, the School's CIP Committee, the Planning Commission, and/or the City Council;
- For each project, develops a Project Plan which identifies and defines the scope and objectives of each project. The Project Plan considers stakeholder needs, defined budgets, City policy, compliance with laws, regulations, standards, or procedures and other requirements. In doing so, the Senior Project Manager may be required to become familiar with stakeholder/customer work processes, equipment, and facilities;
- Develops or coordinates detailed project work schedules and project cost estimates;
- Participates in the recommendation and selection of out-sourced consulting services required for projects which may include design professionals, right-of-way agents, technology specialists, third-party testing and verification experts, acquisition of agreements, and others;
- Responsible for development and compilation of the project team including, but not limited to: design professionals, cost estimating professionals, inspectors, third-party testing and verification professionals, and expertise of other City divisions and departments;
- Plans and monitors project activities to mitigate risk;
- Maintains a high level of communication with stakeholders and staff; and, escalates issues, as appropriate, for senior management consideration;

- Reviews and approves pay applications
- Reviews and recommends change orders
- Ensures proper document management for projects

- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to degree from an accredited two-year college or university which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Minimum of three (3) years of comprehensive project management experience in full life-cycle project management that includes experience in directing and leading project teams.

- Minimum of seven (7) years of comprehensive project management experience in full life-cycle project management that includes experience in directing and leading project teams.

- Preference for EIT, PMP, or PE.
The majority of time spent in this position involves inside work, however position may be exposed to extreme temperatures, extreme brightness, allergens, and/or exposure to conditions typical of active construction sites on a regular basis. The position also may require regular use of a ladder/step stool and driving a city vehicle. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
This position may be required to work weekends, nights, holidays, emergency on-call and/or weather-emergency on-call.
