There is a career progression program in place that provides procurement specialists the opportunity to advance through the II and III level in as quickly as 24 months! It is worth noting that after a reorganization & period of rebuilding & change, the department will be at full staff. This is an exciting time to join the team!
Based on the qualifications and experience of the candidates interviewed, positions will be filled at the Procurement Specialist II or Procurement Specialist III level. The City will compensate for experience in public procurement, especially at the local government level. This means that selected candidates with significant relevant procurement experience may be compensated higher in the pay range.
Procurement Specialist II hiring salary range: $53,424 to $70,787. Procurement Specialist III hiring salary range: $56,126 to $74,367. Hiring salary dependent on qualifications and experience. Requires a bachelor’s degree or any equivalent combination of education and experience in purchasing, marketing, business management, or a closely related field.
In addition to satisfying the vocational/education standards, this class requires a minimum of two years of related, full-time equivalent experience in formal complex solicitations such as Request for Proposals and Invitation for Bids.
Procurement Specialist III:
Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in purchasing, marketing, business management, or a closely related field.
In addition to satisfying the vocational/education standards, this class requires a minimum of three years of related, full-time equivalent experience in formal complex solicitations to include Request for Proposals and Invitation for Bids.
SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES: Requires a valid driver’s license and driving record in compliance with City Driving Standards.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies. Emergency operations support work and work locations may be outside of normal job duties
