What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lake Rogers Weekend Park Attendant position at City of Creedmoor?
The City of Creedmoor is currently recruiting for a Weekend and Holiday Lake Attendant for Lake Rogers Park. Creedmoor’s population consists of 4,600 residents and is located approximately 20 miles North of Raleigh/RTP in Granville County, North Carolina. General Duties for this position include, but are not limited to, facilitating boat and shelter rentals, concession sales, boat launch passes, and performing janitorial duties, litter collection, and other minor routine maintenance projects. Detailed duties include, but are not limited to:
- Provides customer service by answering questions regarding Lake Rogers, park rules and policies, rentals and boat launches, and department related programs and events. Additionally, this position collects fees and completes proper forms; handles complaints and issues from the public; utilizes Rec Desk; checks equipment in/out and illustrates its proper use (e.g., boats, lifejackets, fishing gear).
· Process Point-of-Sale transactions for concession sales, shelter reservations, boat rentals, and boat launch passes. Follow all applicable cash-handling and credit card processing transition policies and procedures.
· Monitors public use of facilities and interactions between fellow facility users. Anticipate and act equitably to provide customer service, prevent or mitigate accidents/injuries, and improve overall guest experience and access.
· Process boat rental requests, this includes processing payment and waivers, fitting guests for life jackets, providing instructions, and assisting with loading, unloading, and launching of boats.
· Utilizing a jon-boat and trolling motor to assist with non-emergency issues on Lake Rogers.
· Report and respond in a timely manner to issues of safety, cleanliness, accessibility, security, and facility integrity.
· Address janitorial issues (e.g., trash, restroom conditions, and facility cleanliness) in the absence of dedicated Public Works staff.
· Open and close facility at designated times.
Lake Rogers Park Attendants must be available to work three (3) weekends per month (Saturday and Sunday), Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day. Shifts are generally 9:30am-2:30pm, 2:30pm-7:30pm, or 9:30am-7:30pm on Weekends and the holidays identified above; additional opportunities to work at the Creedmoor Community Center may be available for the interested candidate, but are not a requirement of accepting the position or the primary responsibility. This positon is a part-time position with no benefits and will pay $12 per hour.
Requirements.
The selected candidates should be at least 18 years old and a Senior in High School or a High school Graduate or GED equivalent.
Successful candidate must be responsible and possess the ability to work independently required. Qualified candidates must be at least 18 years old. Possession of a valid NC driver’s license with clean driving record, and the ability to pass a routine physical exam, pre-employment drug screening, and criminal background check are also required.
