The purpose of the position is to assist with the supervision of seasonal employees assigned to the pool and to maintain the pool and surrounding areas. This is accomplished by supervising staff, enforcing rules, directing pool activities, and maintaining the pool. Other duties include working with citizens and supervising special events, classes and activities.
- Assists with pool staff supervision by scheduling and assigning tasks; reviewing performance; reviewing daily revenues; and completing timesheets
- Directs pool activities by working with users; scheduling classes, events, and rentals; maintaining the area; and cleaning
- Maintains the pool by testing water; balancing and using chemicals; vacuuming; and maintaining safe and sanitary conditions
- Provides customer service to the public by greeting users and assisting with requests; directing customers to the appropriate areas; and collecting fees
- Three years of experience as a lifeguard
- Minimum age of 18
- Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with co-workers, the public, and elected and appointed officials
- Ability to accurately count monies
- Ability to obtain Red Cross Lifeguard Certifications, CPR and First Aid Certifications prior to hire date
- Skill in the operation and use of standard Microsoft products
