The Position:
The City is currently searching for a driven, experienced individual to lead the Facilities Maintenance Division. The ideal candidate is a motivated team player with leadership capabilities and the ability to undertake a full range of facilities maintenance, construction, and repair duties.
The Recruitment Process:
The most highly qualified candidates will be invited to participate in the examination process, which includes an in-person Qualifications Appraisal Interview AND Practical Exam, scheduled for April 2, 2025. Successful candidates will be placed on the eligible list for employment consideration for at least six months.

Representative Duties
- Leads and participates in skilled facilities maintenance, construction, and repair;
- Reviews work requests; determines methods of performing work, scheduling, and necessary supplies and materials;
- Trains employees in work methods, techniques, and the use and operation of equipment;
- Verifies work for accuracy, proper work methods, techniques, and compliance with applicable standards and specifications;
- Ensures adherence to safe work practices and procedures;
- Maintains and repairs City facilities, equipment, and buildings by performing a variety of skilled carpentry, electrical, painting, masonry, plumbing, heating and air conditioning, and mechanical repair work;
- Inspects, repairs, and maintains heating ventilation and air conditioning equipment;
- Reads and interprets sketches, diagrams, and blueprints;
- Monitors and maintains preventive maintenance records and logs.
Education:
Equivalent to graduation from high school supplemented by an appropriate vocational training program in the building trades or a general maintenance training program.
Experience:
Three (3) years journey level experience in building construction, remodeling, or maintenance involving heating, air conditioning, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, or related building trades.
Special Requirements:
Possession of or ability to obtain, prior to employment, a valid Class C California driver’s license and a safe driving record.
