What are the responsibilities and job description for the Animal Control Officer position at City of Farmington?
The City of Farmington is accepting applications for an Animal Control Officer. This position is responsible for performing various duties related to animal control and facility maintenance. Typical duties include: enforcing city ordinances regarding stray, dangerous, nuisance and unwanted domestic animals; ensuring humane and appropriate care for animals; performing general animal control facility cleaning and maintenance duties; assisting in maintenance of police department facilities; and performing operator level maintenance on assigned vehicle. Position is subjected primarily to outdoor working environments and varying weather conditions. Candidate must have the ability to understand and follow both written and oral instructions to complete assigned tasks. A valid Missouri Driver's License is required.
Starting pay is $15.89/hour. Pay will increase to $16.55 per hour upon successful completion of the 6-month probationary period.
