Manages the day-to-day operations of the Florence-Lauderdale Coliseum. Coordinates, directs, and schedules events and programs. Supervises the setup of events, maintenance staff, and Recreation Assistants. Consults and works with outside organizations in regard to rental equipment and set design for rental groups. Consult and assist other department personnel with programs. Assist all staff with public relations and marketing initiatives including but not limited to: the department website; PSA’s and social media. Performs related work in other areas of the department or other duties as assigned.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Creates and produces letters, notices, schedules, rules, media releases, and other materials as needed.Supervises and trains all part-time and full-time employees in facility events, set-ups, clean up, opening and closing procedures, lighting and sound equipment, as well as operating and troubleshooting the HVAC system. Manages part-time and full-time employee work schedules.Responsible for overseeing the maintenance and management of the entire Coliseum.Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment.Recruits and retains clientele for annual events including trade shows, proms, concerts, festivals, special events, community events, banquets, parties, etc.Manages reservation system for all Coliseum rentals and events.Manages and approves set-ups for rentals and coordinates with the event organizer or planner on set-up needs, and time allotments and makes suggestions as needed. Ensures clients are familiar with all rules and regulations.Collects fees/charges and maintains appropriate records of rentals. Prepares and processes daily deposits.Creates and maintains a database of clients for follow-up and retention.Interacts with the public and works closely with local civic groups, organizations, schools, and businesses. Also works closely with the Florence-Lauderdale CVB on ongoing Tourism events held at the Coliseum.Meets and works regularly with Recreation management to maintain the department's website, ensuring it is updated with current information. Also assists management with other social media platforms.Ensures the Recreation Centers web and social media content is maintained, outdated information is removed and the content is accurate, fresh, and appealing while conveying the Recreation Centers message.Prepares publications or newsletters when necessary to provide information externally and internally.Uses creative skills and abilities to promote the Recreation Centers.Researches and updates promotional material.Attends meetings as necessary.Assist in the selection of part-time personnel.Prepares set-up diagrams for the maintenance staff and assists as needed.Operates computer, calculator, copier, fax machine, and other office equipment. Takes phone calls and addresses needs and/or transfers calls to the appropriate staff member.Maintains necessary forms, accurate reports, and organized files. Generates weekly and monthly reports.Purchases supplies, and equipment and submits Capital Budget requests for the Coliseum based on current needs.Works with other divisions and/or departments regarding special projects or events.Fills in for Recreation Supervisor as needed.
