An Accountant job is available with The City of Fort Worth Financial Management Services Department within its Central Revenue Division. This challenging position will be counted on to provide expert, driven solutions to complex problems associated with the billing and collection of vital revenue sources, while providing exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers. In addition, this position will play a key role in supporting the implementation of a unified City-wide Accounts Receivable/Billing and Point of Sale system.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field
- Two (2) years of increasingly responsible accounting experience.
- Valid Texas driver's license.
- Three (3) or more years of progressively responsible finance/accounting experience
- Strong problem solving, strategic, and analytic skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to adapt to a fast-pace environment and learn and retain new and evolving information and procedures
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills
- Maintain ERP billing and Inovah POS system(s) to ensure all billing and revenue process deadlines are executed and in strict compliance with City policies and procedures.
- Manage the reconciliations of various accounts which also include recording and reconciling miscellaneous deposit entries
- Perform extensive research analysis across all AR and Billing modules and resolve complex customer service requests and disputes
- Review and perform various AR activities that will include billing, payment application, refunds, write offs, customer maintenance, etc.
- Maintain and monitor aging of accounts and coordinate and execute collection activities
- Become subject matter expert on all ERP billing and Inovah POS system(s) functions to help support various Revenue roles and assist with monitoring daily operations
- Collaborate with various internal departments and third-party agencies to continually evaluate and implement opportunities to enhance the efficiency of billing and collection related processes and procedures.
- Perform administrative duties and manage special projects, as assigned/required.
