Position: Animal Control Supervisor
Department: Animal Control
Reports To: Commander of Special Operations
*Enforces City, State and Federal laws relating to animals
* Supervises daily activity of Animal Control
*Apprehends stray, unleashed or vicious animals or reptiles, responds to bite cases, assists in euthanization of animals and prepares written reports
*Assist in all kennel duties including but not limited to weekend duties on a rotating basis
* Must possess and maintain a valid Indiana Driver’s License
*Successful completion of a 40-hour pre-basic law enforcement course (after employment)
* Successful completion of a 200-hour NACA academy (after employment)
* Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing and must demonstrate the ability to learn new tasks
* Must gain proficiency in software systems used by the Police Department within thirty (30) days of hire
*Must maintain confidentiality regarding information learned in the course of their duties
* Perform additional duties as required
