About The Intern Position
Visit Grand Junction is seeking an intern to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced and innovate destination marketing environment. This internship offers flexible opportunities based on the candidate’s interest and availability. The duties assigned include loading, transporting, unloading, and stocking copies of the Official Grand Junction Adventure Guide at tourism-related businesses in the Grand Junction area. Additional details are described below. This option also involves hosting the Visit Grand Junction Mobile Visitor Center at the Downtown Market on Main on Thursday evenings during the summer months (July - September). The ideal intern candidate should demonstrate a strong passion for Grand Junction and a genuine enthusiasm for serving its residents, stakeholders, and visitors.

Duties
What You'll Do
- Using Visit Grand Junction’s vehicle, load, transport, unload, and restock copies of the Official Grand Junction Visitor Guide at various tourism-related businesses in the area.
- Enter visitor guide quantity data and assist in monitoring inventory spreadsheets.
- Provide additional deliveries and pick-ups as needed.
- Clean and maintain the interior and exterior of the department vehicle.
- Follow and abide by all traffic laws.
- Coordinate, staff, and assist with hosting the Visit Grand Junction Mobile Visitor Center at the Downtown Market on Main (Thursday evenings from 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. during the summer months; dates TBD).
- Additional projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
What We're Looking For:
- Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Exceptional customer service skills and ability to engage with stakeholders, visitors, and residents in a professional and respectful manner.
Work Schedule
Up to 10 hours per week, generally between 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM (depending on class schedule).
- Evening work will be required to assist with the Downtown Market on Main on Thursdays, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. during the July through September months.
The following physical activities are very important in accomplishing the job’s purpose and are performed on a daily basis:
- Exerting up to 50 pounds of force on a push/pull cart occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
- Sedentary work: Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
