General Description
Want to be a part of a Dynamic and Fun Team this summer? Come work with the Park and Recreation Admin staff and we will train you and advance your basic clerical work and customer service skill set
Examples of Duties
- Performs receptionist duties, including answering telephone calls. Provides customer service and explains department policies and procedures to the general public while utilizing specialized knowledge of department. Directs people to the correct departmental division.
- Sells recreation facility passes and issues permits for recreation activities.
- Enters various data into the computer.
- Processes outgoing mail and delivers interoffice mail daily.
- Sends orders to the print shop.
- Follows all policies, procedures, and the philosophy that is set forth by the City of Green Bay Parks, Recreation, & Forestry Department.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year of general office work desirable.
- Past experience with other Parks, Recreation & Forestry departments or divisions desirable.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of standard office practices, procedures, and terminology.
- Skill in providing a receptionist services, general filing procedures, and simple bookkeeping procedures.
- Ability to read and perform basic calculations. Ability to utilize a computer and the required software. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the public. Ability to work the required hours of the position.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform the following activities:
- Lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds.
- Frequent standing and sitting.
- Ability to focus for long period of time on projects.
- Ability to reach, stoop and lift.
