What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recreation Center Operations Assistant - Cashier position at City of Green River?
- This position reports to the Recreation Center Supervisor.
- This position exercises no supervision over other staff.
Receive money for Recreation Center passes, equipment rental, etc.
Answer telephone; operate public address system.
Interact with customers and other staff in a courteous and professional manner.
Complete general office functions (i.e., make reservations, registrations, etc.).
Perform equipment/facility set-up, as well as post-activity clean up.
Perform other related job duties as assigned.Knowledge of:
- Arithmetic and cashiering.
- Principles of customer service.
- Operate a computer.
- Follow oral and written instructions.
- Perform assigned tasks properly and efficiently.
- Communicate on a daily basis responding to questions or complaints; enforcing rules.
- Distinguish varying levels of cleanliness and take necessary measures to ensure a clean environment (by mopping, sweeping, hosing down, shoveling, cleaning windows, vacuuming, polishing tables, etc.).
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and the public.
- Remain calm and handle crisis situations or work under pressure.
- Provide own transportation to and from the work site
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Training:
- High School diploma or equivalent (will consider applicants currently enrolled in a high school or equivalent educational program).
- Any combination of education, training, and experience that would provide professional public contact skills.
- One (1) year of clerical experience highly desirable.
- Must be 15 years of age or older.
License/Certification:
- Valid, unexpired CPR and First Aid certifications.
- Valid, unexpired Driver's License.
Essential duties require the following physical skills and work environment:
Ability to stand, walk, stoop, crouch, and twist; work with hands above shoulder height with up to 40 lbs.; work with arms extended at should height with up to 20 lbs.; lift or carry 50 lbs. or less and push and/or pull heavy weights (over 75 lb. weights) on a regular basis.
