Under general supervision, the Monitor performs a variety of duties involved in the planning, organization, and coordination of leisure and recreation programs; performs general clerical work in support of recreation and leisure programs; and provides general information and assistance to staff and the public.
Perform equipment/facility setup and post-activity cleanup.
Coordinate/oversee recreation activities.
Interact with patrons and other staff.
Perform other related job duties as assigned.

Essential duties require the following physical skills and work environment:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, crouch, twist, and grasp; work with hands above shoulder height with up to 40 lbs.; work with arms extended at shoulder height with up to 20 lbs.; lift or carry 50 lbs. or less and push and/or pull heavy weights (over 75 lb. weights) on a regular basis; and exposure to hot, cold, and outdoors.
- The Monitor position reports the the Recreation Center Supervisor or his/her designee.
- This position does not exercise supervision over other staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
- One year of clerical experience is preferred.
Age Requirement:
- Must be 15 years of age or older.
Education/Training:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Consideration will be given to those currently enrolled in a high school (or equivalent) educational program.
License/Certification:
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid driver's license.
- Possession of, or the ability to obtain, First Aid and CPR Certificates.
