Greensboro Parks and Recreation is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Park Attendant for Keeley Park. This role supports daily park operations by maintaining facilities, assisting patrons, and ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. The ideal candidate is motivated, customer-service oriented, and able to perform manual tasks effectively.
Open, monitor, secure, and close the park and facilities
Enforce park rules and report suspicious activities
Perform landscaping tasks: mowing, edging, trimming, weeding, blowing, etc.
Operate park vehicles and equipment (e.g., trucks, tractors, UTVs, mowers)
Conduct playground equipment inspections and facility maintenance
Clean restrooms, buildings, and grounds (trash/litter removal, sweeping, disinfecting, restocking supplies)
Assist in maintaining the sprayground area
Handle minor repairs using hand tools and power equipment
Provide exceptional customer service to park visitors
Help with parking and crowd control during special events
Maintain effective communication with coworkers and supervisors
Attend staff meetings and trainings
Complete assigned tasks efficiently and safely
Walking, kneeling, standing, climbing, or sitting for extended periods
Lifting and carrying moderate to heavy materials
Use of hand tools and power equipment
Must have a Valid Driver's License or reliable means of transportation.
This position is Non-Exempt under the FLSA guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Valid Driver's License "OR" reliable means of transportation
- Experience with maintenance equipment (i.e. Blowers, weed-eaters, tractors, mowers, Kubota UTV (or equivalent), golf carts, hand tools, pressure washers)
