Appointed by the Mayor in consultation with the Administrative Assistant, the Big Splash Assistant Pool Manager, under the immediate supervision of the Recreation Coordinator is responsible for assisting in daily operations, safety, and guest relations. Provide leadership and direction to the staff and supervisors. Responsible for the park when the Big Splash Pool Manager is absent.
The Big Splash Assistant Pool Manager shall be chosen solely on the basis of their qualifications, and as shown by the adequacy of their successful experience.
- Has proven ability in oral and written communications.
- Has the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with public officials, civic leaders and the public in general.
- Sufficient knowledge to carry out a full range of varied responsibilities and discharge the accountability required of the Big Splash Assistant Pool Manager.
- Completion of secondary education (high school or GED); must be 18 years of age; must be able to qualify for and remain insurable under the City's vehicle insurance policy.
- Has the ability to follow direction, provide necessary services and enforce stated rules and regulations.
- Has the ability to follow direction, ability to direct, train, coordinate, schedule and evaluate the performance of others.
- Has the ability to provide necessary services and implement planned programs.
- Ability to take charge in an emergency.
Essential Functions of the Position
The Big Splash Assistant Pool Manager shall have the following powers and duties under the supervision of the Big Splash Pool Manager :
Working Conditions and Equipment Operated
The employee has exposure to chemical compounds found in an aquatic environment including chemicals. flammables, hazardous gases, air contaminants; exposed to wet walking surfaces, weather extremes, ascends and / or descends stairs; has contact with potentially violent or emotionally distraught persons; routinely required to stand, walk, stoop kneel, crouch, or crawl on even and uneven surfaces; regularly required to lift, carry, push, or pull objects 50 lbs or less.
Note : In accordance with the U.S. Department of Labor physical demands strength ratings, this is considered medium work.

Minimum Acceptable Characteristics, Licensure and / or Certification
Skill in typing; word processing; computer operation; calculator operation; use of modem office equipment; use of telephone / mobile phone.
American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification provided.
Current adult, child and infant CPR and first aid certifications preferred.
