Part-Time Seasonal Railroad Museum Guide
Starting Pay $16 per hour
Employees receive 40 hours of Sick and Safe Leave.
The Railroad Museum Guide operates and promotes the Hagerstown Railroad Museum & Engine 202. This position will report to the Recreation Coordinator.
Education: High School Diploma
Experience: Knowledge of railroad heritage, museum studies, or related field preferred.
License & Certification: Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record in accordance with the City’s vehicle operations policy.
Essential Duties: Duties may include, but are not limited to: Interpret the Hagerstown Railroad Museum & Engine 202 and artifacts in the collection; assist with the improvement of museum displays; care for all artifacts and antiques; maintain general housekeeping inside the museum and around the immediate grounds; act as a tour guide for scheduled tour groups, individual tours and birthday parties; help maintain records of all visitors and groups; collect fees and donations; assist with event planning, promotions and special events, and development of seasonal programs; operate safely a midsize, clutch operated tractor for special events. Other related duties as assigned.
