What You’ll Be Doing
As an Early Childhood Instructor, you’ll play a key role in our preschool and youth programming. You’ll design, organize, and lead interactive classes for children ages 0–12, with a strong emphasis on sports, movement, and wellness. Your energy, creativity, and connection will help create memorable and inclusive experiences for children and their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and co-facilitate classes (average 12 kids per class with 2 instructors)
- Develop and adapt age-appropriate curriculum for multi-sport camps, youth programs, and cultural wellness classes
- Engage with parents—many stay onsite and are part of the experience
- Create a safe, structured, and fun environment
- Use positive behavior management techniques to support group dynamics
- Foster a welcoming atmosphere where every child feels safe, seen, and supported
We’re expanding our sports-focused youth and preschool programming at Tyson Recreation Center and Hidden Creek Community Center. Instructors will lead programs that build confidence, movement skills, and social-emotional growth in our youngest learners.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
We’re looking for people who:
- Are enthusiastic about working with children and making a lasting impact
- Can confidently lead high-energy activities and project their voice in a group setting
- Have a strong understanding of child development and group management
- Feel comfortable engaging with families and building positive relationships
- Prioritize emotional intelligence and inclusion in their teaching approach
- Coaching or sports instruction experience
- A background in early childhood development or recreation
- Bilingual skills—Spanish preferred

High school diploma or GED, and Some related work experience (example: experience in structured youth settings such as classrooms, camps, community groups), or Any combination of experience and training which provides the equivalent scope of knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work. Strong communication and group management skills Ability to reliably attend and support scheduled classes
- Weekdays: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Saturdays: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- Estimated 12–16 hours/week
- Positions available at Tyson Recreation Center and Hidden Creek Community Center

Bilingual incentive pay available
Preference may be given to candidates who are bilingual in Spanish/English and bilingualism is our ideal as opportunities for community engagement abound. Employees who can demonstrate the ability to speak Spanish, or any language spoken by over ten percent (10%) of City residents as documented by the most recent U.S. Census, at a proficiency level determined by a fluency test administered by the City, will receive a monthly premium of three percent (3%) of their regular base pay.

Salary : $22 - $27
