Apply today! About our Department: The General Services Department consists of several divisions in different locations throughout the City. The Facilities Projects Division manages new construction, additions, and alterations of City-owned buildings and parks. The Maintenance Division oversees the maintenance and janitorial services of City-owned structures and properties. General Services Aquatics and Maintenance Supervisor Position Overview: This is technical and administrative work in managing the chemical and mechanical components of the City of Huntsville aquatic facilities, splash pads and fountains. Work involves responsibility for maintaining proper filtration systems operation, to ensure public safety and compliance with all regulating guidelines. Work involves responsibility for conducting, directing and overseeing the maintenance, minor repair, modification, reconditioning, replacement and installation of a wide variety of chemical treatment, filtration, timing systems and mechanical equipment associated with swimming pools, splash pads and fountains. Qualifications and Necessary Special Requirements: High school diploma from a school accredited by a regional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or GED certificate issued by the appropriate state agency and five years of experience in pool/aquatic, mechanical, and/or plumbing systems and two years of supervisory experience. Valid Driver's License Must pass the written portion of the CDL, Class B Endorsement test within six (6) months of hire and/or promotion date.
