What are the responsibilities and job description for the IF Power Grants Administrator position at City of Idaho Falls?

Idaho Falls Power/Idaho Falls Fiber is currently recruiting for a Grants Administrator. In this position you will be responsible for identifying, securing, and managing grants and associated funding requirements. Additionally, the Grants Administrator will handle various accounting functions.

Research potential grant opportunities that can enable with Idaho Falls Power to achieve its’ goals and initiatives.

Write, submit, and manage grant proposals to government, state, federal, and private organizations.

Administer and manage all active grants, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines which includes: financial reporting, budgeting, progress reporting, milestone tracking, and reconciliation of funds.

Work with various divisions within the utility to collect relevant data and input for grant proposals to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.

Track grant activities including monitoring fund balances, expenditures, and project progress.

Perform accounting functions such as grant-related financial reconciliation, reporting, and auditing to ensure accuracy and compliance with state and federal guidelines.

Maintain grant documentation, including financial reports, application materials, and compliance reports, in accordance with city, state, and federal regulations.

Provide regular updates and reports to the management team on grant status and financial tracking.

Assist in preparing presentations, reports, and updates to utility senior leadership and Board on grant activities.

Stay updated on grant compliance regulations to ensure all programs meet the appropriate guidelines.

Collaborate with stakeholders, including labor unions, local governments, and community organizations, to ensure robust community and labor engagement for clean energy and infrastructure projects.

Coordinate Community Benefits Plans (CBPs) in collaboration with internal departments, focusing on engaging communities and labor groups, creating quality jobs, and ensuring diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA).

Monitor project impacts on disadvantaged communities (DACs), ensuring alignment with the Justice40 initiative and local labor engagement.
Assist the CFO in preparing financial reports for Idaho Falls Power. 

Works safely and collaboratively across the utility in a team-oriented environment. 

Performs other related duties as assigned.1. Education and Experience:

Graduation from college with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, Public Administration, English, Journalism, Accounting, or related field. Master's degree or relevant certification is a plus.
AND
Two (2) years of progressive experience in grant writing, grant administration, or a similar role that includes experience with budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting.
OR
An equivalent combination of education and experienceExperience in a public utility or government agency setting is preferred but not required.
Experience with community benefits plans or public infrastructure projects is a plus.

2. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Thorough knowledge of  grant writing, budgeting, and administration principles Familiarity with local, state, and federal grant programs, including compliance requirements. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to draft clear and compelling grant proposals and present reports effectively. Proficient in accounting and budgeting, with the ability to manage financial tracking and reporting for grants. Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work independently. Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

3  Special Qualifications:

Must obtain or possess a valid Idaho driver's license.
Experience with utility-related grants or energy programs is a plus.

This position is primarily office-based, with occasional local travel to attend meetings or conferences. Tasks require a variety of physical activities not generally involving muscular strain. Incumbent of the position performs in a typical office setting with appropriate climate controls. Tasks require variety of physical activities, not generally involving muscular strain, related to walking, standing, stooping, sitting, reaching, and lifting. Emotional stability and discriminating thinking required for dealing with the public. Common eye, hand, finger, leg and foot dexterity exist. Mental application utilizes memory for details, verbal instructions, emotional stability and discriminating thinking.

Salary : $68,973 - $101,254
