What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recreation Attendant position at City of Lake Jackson, TX?
BASIC FUNCTION: The Recreation Attendant works under the direct supervision of the Member Service Coordinator. The Recreation Attendant supports all City of Lake Jackson recreational facilities and is a part-time position working days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Knowledge: The incumbent must have a general understanding of the principles and practices for providing quality customer service; safety procedures and protocols; supporting facilities and events.
Skills and Abilities: Must be able to use computer equipment for documents, templates, and controls systems. Observe and take direction. Practice positive and effective oral communication with customers, outside contacts, and all levels of employees. Review, comprehend, and complete all necessary documentation. Regularly required to sit or stand, reach, bend, and walk on level, uneven, and slippery surfaces, climb, balance, reach, twist, kneel, bend, squat, and stoop for prolonged periods of time in the performance of daily activities. May be required to lift, drag, carry, and push equipment, tools, and supplies up to 50 pounds. May regularly work alone, depending upon job assignment.
Education: Enrolled in High School, High-School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Experience: Experience working with children and cash handling is strongly preferred.
License and Certificates: Valid Texas Class C Driver’s license, Red Cross CPR and First Aid Certifications (or obtainment within three months of appointment).
