What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Camp Site Assistant - Before/After Care position at City of Lake Oswego?
The Summer Camp Assistant & Administrative Support position for Lake Oswego Parks & Recreation works directly with the Recreation Supervisor to provide administrative support for Summer Camps held at the Forest Hills Elementary School camp location. Assistant is responsible for working before or after care, checking in camp participants, providing support to camp counselors, prepping camp supplies and projects, managing registration desk, printing rosters, answering phones and parent questions. Applicants must be age 16 .
30 Hours Per Week
Shifts Vary; must be available Monday-Friday; 7a-1p or 12-6p. Schedule will be flexible and based on applicant availability and current employee schedules.
Applicants must be ages 16 . Must be comfortable working in an active, fast-paced setting. Applicants should have some experience working with youth in a camp setting, basic administrative tasks, creativity preferred.
- Working directly with parents and camp participants in an administrative capacity Monday-Friday, running front desk support at Forest Hills Location.
- Providing admin support, obtaining rosters, emergency contact forms
- Assisting camp participants, ages 3-12, in a camp setting
- Adhering to all LOPR Policies & Procedures regarding safety, including cleaning, policy enforcement and communications.
- Establish positive working relationship with participants, parents and co-workers
- Implement safety measures when necessary
- Work directly with youth in the before and after care program, as well as supplemental staff with various summer camps.
- Assist with clean up and set up of activities
- Keep accurate attendance records, accident/incident reports and waivers
- Maintain a clean and organized camp space for staff and participants
- Enthusiasm, good organizational and people skills are necessary
- Punctual, reliable and able to make safe, responsible decisions while working independently
- Applicants should have experience with school-age children in a day-camp setting
- Have knowledge of basic administrative tasks such as spreadsheets, online registration (will train), answering phones, etc.
- Ability to follow through on directions and work independently
- Must be available for duration of the summer
- CPR/First Aid Certified recommended but not required
Frequent repetitive motions including, but are not limited to: hand, wrist and finger movements; daily walking, reaching, standing, talking, hearing and seeing. Must be able to move objects up to 35 pounds of force occasionally and up to 30 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
