We are seeking a Plan Services Intern to join our dynamic team in Development Services! This position will provide a variety of planning and development work related to current development proposals, assisting business owners and residents, as well as city wide initiatives related to our Communities for All Ages Plan, Housing, and the Ignite! Comprehensive Plan.

- Must be enrolled as a college student pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Planning, Urban Design, Public Policy Administration, or related field.
- A valid state Motor Vehicle Operator’s license is also required.
- Provide support to the Plan Services team in administration of planning and zoning cases and engineering reviews.
- Conduct research related to a variety of development initiatives such as housing, neighborhood planning, social equity, and sustainability such as floodplain management, stormwater, and other environmental issues.
- Perform on site data collection.
- Assist the public and development community with zoning, planning, engineering, and land use questions and understanding the review process.
- Collaborate with others across the organization as a member of the Development Review Committee.
- Assists in the preparation and research for long range plans, studies, and amendments to ordinances.
- Work schedule up to 30 hours per week.
