Customer Service Assistant
This job requires skills in specialized work including diverse and complex accounts receivable and collections processes. This individual will work within established accounting systems and procedures.
Hours : FULL TIME; M-F; Rotates between 7 : 30 a.m. - 4 : 00 p.m. and 8 : 00 a.m. - 4 : 30 p.m.
Nature of Work / Examples of Work Performed
Responds to customer questions and requests, taking final billing orders over the telephone, processing special billings, and researching and / or adjusting accounts.
Interact with customers over the phone, in person, and / or via email and social media.
Accurately enter data for meter reads, sewer base adjustments, special read requests, and third-party processing.
Desirable Knowledge, Abilities & Skills / Desirable Training & Experience
Knowledge of methods used to handle, receipt, record and maintain records of money received and disbursed.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, various City Departments, banks, title companies, service agencies and the public.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Attention to detail.
Minimum Qualifications / Necessary Special Requirements
- Graduation from high school or equivalent
- Two years of experience in performing moderately complex clerical work involving billing procedures and cashiering or in the extension of credit and the collection of accounts
Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the desirable knowledge, abilities and skills may be considered.
