The props and scenery coordinator is responsible for assisting in sourcing, acquiring, building, and managing all props and scenic elements needed for a production, including coordinating with the Theatre Director to ensure the set accurately reflects the vision of the show, while also overseeing the proper storage, maintenance, and placement of these items throughout rehearsals and performances. In addition, oversees 10-15 students using the tools and spaces of the Middleton High School Performing Arts Center.Pre-production:
Read the script and create a comprehensive list of required props and scenery. Budget and manage the procurement of props and scenery materials.
Oversee the construction of props and scenery.
Production:
Ensure all props and scenery are properly labeled, organized, and readily accessible during rehearsals. Monitor the condition of props and scenery during rehearsals and make necessary repairs or replacements.
Coordinate the placement and set-up of props and scenery on stage according to the stage manager's cues. Manage the movement of props and scenery during scene changes.
Address any unexpected issues with props or scenery during performances and find quick solutions.
Post-production:
Properly store and maintain all props and scenery after the production concludes.

- Theatre comfortable person (familiar with stage safety, terminology, and basic techniques).
- Task focused but fun and capable of managing the varying energies and personalities of small groups of middle schoolers.
- Has worked on a start to finish set/props design.
- High School Graduate or equivalent
