Overview :Are you a dedicated professional with a passion for public safety and regulatory compliance? The City of New Orleans is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as the Assistant Taxicab Bureau Administrator. In this pivotal role, you'll play a key part in ensuring the safe and legal operation of taxicabs and other for-hire vehicles throughout our vibrant city.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of taxicab drivers and for-hire vehicle operators, ensuring adherence to schedules, routes, and service standards.
- Manage transportation and maintenance budgets, maintaining fiscal responsibility.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance, driver credentials, and fare revenues to ensure compliance with local transportation regulations and company policies.
- Conduct inspections to ensure vehicles meet safety and legal standards.
- Enforce compliance with municipal regulations as outlined in New Orleans municipal code, chapter 162.
- Address passenger complaints, resolve driver conflicts, and handle emergencies promptly to maintain a safe and reliable transportation experience.
- Develop and implement training programs for drivers to ensure understanding and compliance with safety protocols and customer service standards.
- Monitor driver performance and provide feedback or corrective actions as necessary.
- Work closely with the Taxicab Bureau Administrator to develop policies and procedures that enhance the efficiency and safety of for-hire vehicle operations.
- Collaborate with other city departments and external agencies to address issues related to public transportation and ensure cohesive enforcement of regulations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.*
- Four (4) years of responsible supervisory and administrative experience, two (2) of which must have been either inspectional, training, or enforcement experience relating to the for-hire vehicle industry
